Day 2 (Sunday 6th April) Across to France and Beyond

Today was the day James had been waiting for as we were going under the sea on ‘Le Shuttle’. After breakfast we set off on the 20-minute drive to the terminal.

Everything was well organised and smooth and we were soon in the car park waiting to be called. We were amazed and pleasantly surprised to see what a lot of dogs were travelling and the shuttle terminal was well geared up for them with an exercise area, their own check in and dog food and treats for sale.

Once in the train the journey was only 35 minutes. James was a little sad not to see any fishes but overall enjoyed the trip.

Once we got off the train we set off on the 4-hour journey to our hotel mostly on motorways and passing through France, Belgium and finally into the Netherlands.

We found our hotel, the Avifauna, which was situated on the Old Rhine.

Evening meal was, once again, pizza in a nice pizzeria overlooking the river.
