Day 7 (Friday 11 April) Our Journey Home Begins

We knew that we had to get away in good time for our dash to Le Shuttle and we did.

We had intended to stop for a break at a service area but in the event we pushed on and finally got to Cité Europe for a look round the shops.

We didn't spend much time there before moving on to the Shuttle Terminal where we spent a little time inside but even longer waiting to board the train as there was a delay at passport control.

Although it seemed we would arrive quite late on the other side, we did mange to arrive only a little behind the original schedule and we pushed on to our hotel in Maidstone.

This wasn't the same Premier Inn that we had used on our outward journey and it was a lovely place to stay.  the rooms were a god size, the staff were excellent, including at breakfast at the Beefeater pub next door.  The only downside was that there was no lift.
