Today we went to Zaanse Schans, a mill village with several windmills and timber houses near Amsterdam. It was clearly a popular place as we struggled to find a car parking space and there were already 8 coaches there when we arrived.
Unfortunately today was quite chilly but we enjoyed walking round. We watched a demo of how clogs are made and then visited a cheese maker where we were able to sample a plethora of cheeses.
After a hot chocolate and a late lunch, we made our way
back, calling at Lidl and Aldi for some provisions for a picnic tea in the
room.
Dreamland! An Aldi and a Lidl next to one another ....
